Darnell Farms is an operating family farm spanning 100 acres in a valley along the Tuckasegee River in Bryson City, North Carolina. Visitors experience active agriculture firsthand, seeing strawberries, pole beans, sweet corn, pumpkins, squash, and tomatoes grown on the property. The Farm Stand, open throughout the year, sells seasonal produce harvested on-site or sourced from local farmers, along with breads, jerky, cheeses, mushrooms, specialty foods, canned goods, and merchandise. The farm hosts several festivals and special events for organizations throughout the year, plus educational field trips where visitors learn about farm methods, land stewardship, and local history including ties to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, whose reservation borders the property. A calendar of monthly programming features live music and food trucks. Families, school groups, and individuals seeking to understand farming and regional heritage find a working agricultural setting rather than a themed attraction.
