Columbus Botanical Garden spans 40 acres in north Columbus, with four developed acres featuring rose, cottage, herb, vegetable, and camellia gardens alongside a perennial wildflower collection, pollinator garden, and ginkgo shade garden. Visitors walk the mile-long JoAnn Holt Walking Trail through mixed hardwood forest, observe native songbirds at feeding stations, and explore historic structures including an 1898 farmhouse and gin house. The garden hosts horticultural seminars, workshops for children and adults on varied topics, and cultural events. Educational programming and classes complement recreational opportunities across the grounds. Seasonal activities include paint and sip sessions, cyanotype print-making, yoga classes, homeschool discovery days, and field days. A current exhibit features nine eight-foot-tall skeleton sculptures by artist Ricardo Soltero celebrating La Calavera Catrina iconography. An annual plant sale offers blooms and crafts. The garden charges admission, with hours published online, and welcomes visitors interested in learning about the natural world, landscape design, garden wildlife, or relaxing at special events.
