About Carillon Park Rail and Steam Society
Carillon Park Rail and Steam Society operates a miniature 7.5-inch gauge railroad in Carillon Historical Park, where visitors can ride on trains scaled at one-eighth full size. The volunteer-run organization maintains track layouts throughout the park and offers free train rides during scheduled run days, with rides also available during the annual Rail Festival. Members and visitors engage in behind-the-scenes activities including laying new track, maintaining existing track, performing equipment maintenance, and making repairs to bridges and tool sheds. Many participants ride on trains to transport tools, gravel, and supplies throughout the track layout. The railroad is separate from Carillon Historical Park itself, though the structures and trackage become park property once installed. Membership in the society welcomes people of all ages and includes household members. The attraction is located in Dayton, Ohio.
