The Cape Coral Museum of History preserves and shares the history of Cape Coral and Southwest Florida through exhibits, archives, and public programs. Visitors tour three buildings filled with artifacts, documents, photographs, and maps. The Rosen Building houses the front desk and museum store in a 1962 structure originally built as a country club pro shop. The Gulf American Land Corp. Building chronicles settlement by the Calusa and Seminole peoples through the city's development by Gulf American Land Corporation, and contains archives with original documents, scrapbooks, and letters. The Kelly Building, opened in 2009, documents the growth of local businesses, government, schools, community services, and parks since the city's incorporation in 1970. Three garden areas—a Memorial Rose Garden, a certified Butterfly Garden, and Natural Gardens—surround the buildings. Guided tours start at the top of each hour. The museum operates in Cape Coral, Florida, and suits residents and visitors interested in local history.
Hours: Wed – Fri: 11 am – 4 pm, Saturday: 10 am – 2 pm
