About Broad River Outpost

Broad River Outpost rents solo and tandem kayaks and canoes on Georgia's Broad River, operating two sections where paddlers choose between beginner whitewater rapids or scenic mellow floats. The facility provides sit-on-top and sit-in recreational kayaks, tandem canoes, and private boater shuttles for all experience levels. On-site wooded camping includes hot showers, fire pits, and picnic tables, with group sites available for larger parties. The outpost sells waterproof bags and boxes, snacks, drinks, and small coolers. Friendly leashed dogs are welcome. The shop operates seasonally with extended hours during summer months, and the last put-in time varies by season. Located in Madison County, Broad River Outpost sits just 23 miles from downtown Athens, making it accessible to paddlers from UGA, Augusta, Atlanta, and surrounding areas. Reservations are recommended to ensure adequate staffing and avoid crowds.
