About UT Gardens- Jackson

UT Gardens–Jackson is a botanical garden operated by the West Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center, where visitors explore horticultural displays and walking paths during daylight hours. The grounds feature an arboretum with diverse plantings and a distinctive colored glass bottle wall. The gardens showcase ornamental research and seasonal plant trials, with exhibits demonstrating how plants perform in the region. Educational programs and classes run throughout the year, led by Master Gardeners who share knowledge about plant care and landscaping. The gardens serve plant enthusiasts, gardeners seeking practical growing information, families interested in nature walks, and anyone wanting to learn about plants suited to Tennessee conditions. Visitors walk through themed garden areas around the office building location to see specimen plants and research displays. In 2013, Tennessee designated UT Gardens as the official botanical garden for the state. The Jackson location is one of three UT Gardens sites operated by the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture.
