About UI Ice Arena

The University of Illinois Ice Arena in Champaign is a 55,000 square foot facility offering ice skating for the community and Campus Recreation members. Visitors skate on a 192 by 115 foot sheet of ice surrounded by 1,200 seats. The arena hosts public ice skating sessions, Learn to Skate lessons for all ages and skill levels, freestyle figure skating with coaches, and ice hockey programs. Broomball and group skating parties are also available. The facility includes four public locker rooms, four party areas, and two Zambonis. The Penalty Box, open daily, serves hot chocolate, coffee, fountain drinks, and snacks. A Pro Shop stocks socks, winter gloves, hockey skate laces, mouth guards, hockey tape, combination locks, and hockey pucks. Adaptive ice sport sleds are available for public sessions and sled hockey, and wheelchairs are permitted on the ice during public skates.
