The Skunk Train in Willits operates scenic rail excursions and railbike experiences along the Redwood Route, a historic railroad corridor through northern California's redwood forests. Visitors board custom-built, two-person electric railbikes or vintage trains to travel along the Noyo River and through old-growth groves, crossing wooden trestle bridges and stopping at historic logging camps. The railbike journey covers 25 miles with a one-hour break at Camp Noyo, where complimentary picnic refreshments are provided. The experience requires excellent mobility and the ability to bicycle recumbently for extended periods. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website. Residents of Mendocino, Humboldt, and Lake Counties receive discounted rates. Annual passholders receive 15 percent off any other train and railbike experiences. The attraction is located in Willits, California.
