About The Learning Zoo

The Learning Zoo in Conroe offers interactive animal experiences where visitors observe and interact with zoo residents in hands-on settings. General admission allows guests to view the collection during open hours. The zoo features capybara encounters where visitors age six and up can pet, feed, and photograph Peanut and Pepper, the facility's capybaras, in sessions lasting twenty to twenty-five minutes. Specialized programs include Zookeeper for a Day experiences, VIP behind-the-scenes tours, Homeschool Days, Mommy and Me sessions, and Toddler Time events. Birthday parties are available both at the zoo and at outside locations. School groups can arrange Field Trips and School Safaris tailored to educational needs. Visitors must wear closed-toe shoes throughout the facility, and trained service animals are the only pets permitted inside. The zoo holds USDA licensing and operates off FM 1488 and 242 near The Woodlands. Tickets are sold online through the zoo's website.
