About The Imperial Centre for the Arts & Sciences

The Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences in Rocky Mount combines a children's museum, science center, and arts programming under one roof. Visitors to the Children's Museum and Science Center explore the Live Animal Gallery, visit the Cummins Planetarium, and interact with permanent exhibits and traveling displays. The Arts Center produces visual and performing arts programming with classes and instruction for all ages. The Community Theatre stages productions throughout the year. The facility also houses a Clay Studio where experienced ceramics artists work independently with electric throwing wheels, hand extruders, drying tables, slab rollers, and access to glazes and firing. The Imperial Centre welcomes school groups, family visits, and individual exploration of its various galleries and exhibition spaces.
