The Black Cowboy Museum, Rosenberg

About The Black Cowboy Museum

The Black Cowboy Museum in Rosenberg preserves the history of African American cowboys who shaped the American West. Founded by Larry Callies, the museum honors figures like Bass Reeves, Nat Love, and Bill Pickett, telling the overlooked stories of Black cowboys and their contributions to frontier history. Visitors explore exhibits in the Black Cowboy Museum and the Black Cowboy Hall of Fame Museum through either self-guided tours or guided experiences led by museum staff. Guided tours last one to one and a half hours and provide complete access to all exhibits in both museums. The museum operates Tuesday through Saturday with hours published on its website. Self-guided visits allow independent exploration of the museum's collections. Group visits of fifteen or more can be arranged by advance contact. The museum charges admission, with different prices for adults, seniors, and children, while children under six enter free with adult admission.
