Tennessee Museum of Aviation occupies a 50,000 square foot facility on the Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge Airport in Sevierville, where visitors explore vintage military aircraft and aviation history. The Exhibit Gallery features professionally designed displays with artifacts, uniforms, aircraft models and hundreds of aviation memorabilia tracing aviation history from before the Wright Brothers through present day, including Tennessee's contributions to the field. The Faith and Courage exhibit pays tribute to U.S. Military Chaplains from World War II onward. A 35,000 square foot aircraft hangar houses magnificently restored Warbirds, trainers, fighters, helicopters, jets and amphibious aircraft alongside aircraft engines, cockpits and military vehicles. The well-lit hangar interior creates an impressive atmosphere for browsing. Visitors should allow at least an hour to an hour and a half, though tour length varies depending on individual interest level.
