About Sweetwater Valley Farm
Sweetwater Valley Farm is a family-owned dairy farm in Philadelphia, Tennessee that produces farmstead cheese and welcomes visitors to tour the operation. Guests can meet the dairy cattle herd and learn how the farm cares for more than 1,700 animals while producing milk for cheese making. The farm produces a variety of cheddar-based cheeses including basic cheddars, flavored varieties, gouda, smoked gouda, cheese curds and farmers cheese available in the on-site shop. The Seed to Sandwich Cafe, located in the barn, serves grilled cheese sandwiches made with the farm's own cheddar, hand-dipped milkshakes and other menu items. Visitors can purchase award-winning cheeses at the shop or order online, and farm tours can be booked through the venue's website. The farm has operated in Sweetwater Valley for over two centuries, with cheese production beginning in 1998 and the cafe opening in 2019. The attraction suits families and anyone interested in seeing how farmstead cheese is made from start to finish.
