About Stephenville Historical House Museum
The Stephenville Historical House Museum preserves the cultural heritage of Erath County and the Cross Timbers region through its collection of historic buildings. Visitors explore the Chapel on the Bosque, John Tarleton Ranch House, Center Grove School House, Berry Cottage, Carriage House, Oxford House, and Log Cabins on the museum grounds. The museum grounds remain open to the public throughout the day for self-guided tours and photography. During office hours, visitors can receive guided tours from staff members. The museum operates Wednesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm, with the office closed Monday and Tuesday. General admission is free. The museum is a nonprofit organization operated by dedicated volunteers and part-time staff committed to collecting, preserving, and interpreting historical exhibits. The location is in Stephenville, Texas.
