About Southeastern Quilt & Textile Museum

The Southeastern Quilt & Textile Museum preserves and celebrates textile traditions through rotating exhibitions and educational programs. Visitors explore three galleries displaying quilts and fiber art from the museum's permanent collection and visiting artists. Current exhibits feature historic pieces including early coverlets, community signature quilts, and contemporary works by regional artists. The museum presents about twelve exhibitions annually, including Sacred Threads, which explores spiritual journeys through quilting, and shows highlighting Bengali embroidery, Jewish ritual textiles, and fiber techniques from the Handweavers Guild of America. The facility includes a classroom with library and a gift shop. In 2023, the museum offered twenty-two adult classes covering sewing, quilting, embroidery, and crochet, along with summer Quilt Camp sessions. The museum, housed in a historic cotton warehouse, welcomes visitors from across the country and internationally. Located in Carrollton, Georgia, it provides free parking and accessible entrances for all guests.
