About Sainte Genevieve Riverboat

The Sainte Genevieve is an authentic sternwheel riverboat offering scenic cruises of the Illinois River from downtown Ottawa. Visitors depart on tours that pass Buffalo Rock and the Marseilles Lock and Dam, viewing the picturesque waterways of Starved Rock Country. The boat features a deep green hull with hand-crafted interiors, an enclosed dining area serving food from local restaurants, a stocked cocktail bar, and an expansive top deck providing 360-degree views of the river. Weekend sightseeing cruises last two hours, while meal cruises vary in duration and menu. Live music occasionally accompanies cruises. The riverboat also hosts private events and get-togethers at its downtown dock location. The boat was built in 1962 and has been fully remodeled for modern comfort while preserving the experience of classic American riverboating.
