About Sacramento State Planetarium

Sacramento State Planetarium offers public shows where visitors watch astronomy presentations hosted by Sacramento State faculty members from the Department of Physics and Astronomy. All public shows run sixty minutes in duration. The planetarium features rotating monthly programming that includes shows such as "Encounters in the Milky Way" and special Kid's Day shows where the audience selects the content. Faculty members also teach astronomy classes within the planetarium facility itself. K-12 students can attend field trips organized through their schools. Sacramento State students can enroll in astronomy classes held at the planetarium. The general public can attend scheduled public shows held on weekends throughout the month. Information about each month's offerings is updated monthly and available through the planetarium's email list and social media channels on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. The planetarium is located on the east side of the Sacramento State campus, just north of Parking Structure II and the Hornet Bookstore in Sacramento, California.
