About Rock Cut State Park Concession
Rock Cut State Park Concession operates Northern Illinois's largest state park, a 3,092-acre outdoor destination in Loves Park accessible from Illinois Route 173 off Interstate 90. Visitors hike, bike, cross-country ski, and snowshoe on designated trails circling two lakes. Pierce Lake spans 160 acres with a 4.1-mile road loop and roughly 4-mile trail loop; swimming is prohibited there, but a no-wake rule permits boat launches at no charge. Olson Lake covers 60 acres and allows swimming at its beach, with boat access limited to electric motors or carry-in watercraft like kayaks. Both lakes welcome fishing and paddling. The park includes a campground for overnight stays. The Lone Rock Café serves made-from-scratch food and drinks next to the outdoor store, offering views of the Stateline area from its dining space.
