About Poverty Hill Tree Farm
Poverty Hill Tree Farm in Placerville offers visitors the chance to choose and cut their own fresh Christmas tree during the holiday season. The farm has been growing quality trees for more than fifty years. Visitors select from several varieties including Norway Spruce, Doug Fir, White Fir, and Sequoia. The activity involves walking the grounds to find a tree, then using a saw to cut it down. The farm is located north of Highway 50 on Bedford Avenue, then east on Poverty Hill Drive, positioned near Gold Bug Park and Gold Bug Mine. Trees come with tax and packaging included. The farm operates on limited hours, opening Friday through Sunday during Thanksgiving weekend, then weekends through the season, with weekday visits available by appointment.
