About Perry Historical Museum
Perry Area Historical Museum in Perry, Georgia preserves local history through multiple connected sites. Visitors tour a 1927 home built by Dr. Horace Evans that now houses the museum's archives, memorabilia, and records while supporting genealogical research for local families. The museum also operates Sinclair Station, a 1931 service station built during the Great Depression with a residential apartment above, featuring World War II military exhibits and depression-era petrol displays visible through original double storefront windows. Springhill School, a one-room schoolhouse established in 1905 for Heard Community children, was relocated to the museum site and is available by appointment. The downtown district includes a Bicentennial Bicycle sculpture placed on Main Street in 2024. The museum staff provides local tours and assists visitors researching family history.
