About McHenry Mansion
McHenry Mansion is a restored Victorian mansion built in 1883 located in Modesto, California. Visitors tour the historic home with knowledgeable docents who share stories about the original owners and life in the late 1800s. The mansion has served as a venue for weddings, receptions, anniversaries, holiday parties, tea parties, dinners, wine tastings, memorial services, and family reunions. A Visitors Center and Gift Store operates on the grounds, where guests can watch a DVD presentation about the mansion's history, sign a guestbook, and browse unique gifts including books, toys, and garden products. The foundation also hosts special events such as murder mystery experiences and candlelight tours. The mansion is maintained by the McHenry Mansion Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to historic preservation. Tours are available, and the venue welcomes visitors interested in exploring California's Victorian architectural heritage.
