Koreshan State Park, Estero

About Koreshan State Park

Koreshan State Park in Estero preserves the 1929 Fairbanks-Morse Engine and machine shop that once powered the Koreshan Unity settlement and surrounding neighbors during the industrial age. Visitors explore houses and buildings dating to the late 1800s, where a visionary community lived and worked for decades. Guided tours by volunteer and ranger staff reveal daily routines, innovative ideas, and the belief system that shaped this unique settlement. The grounds feature bamboo trails cultivated by the Koreshans, blending Victorian elegance with Arts and Crafts design as the community adapted through prosperity and the Great Depression. The gardens reflect how residents engineered both their physical environment and industrial operations. Walking through the preserved settlement, visitors encounter the actual structures and machinery that tell the story of the Koreshan community from its bold vision through its eventual dissolution. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
