Downs Haunted House in Downs, Illinois offers a haunted house attraction where visitors walk through a themed building with actors and special effects. The venue also features a haunted hayrick ride, bonfires, and queue line entertainment including a fire-breathing clown and stilt walker. Concessions and apparel sales are available on site. For younger children, the Downs UnHaunted House provides a separate experience with all scares removed, lights turned on, candy distributed in each room, and an Ice Princess display. The haunted house has operated since 1992 and is managed by the Village of Downs Events Committee with over fifty volunteers serving as actors, makeup artists, prop builders, and support staff.
