The facility underwent major renovations that updated the gymnasium, stage, entrance, lobby, administrative offices, game room, and restrooms with new heating, air systems, flooring, ceilings, and lighting. Beyond the recreation center, Holly Oak Park features a softball field, two fishing ponds, a nature trail, a large picnic pavilion, outdoor volleyball and horseshoes, and a playground. The park also maintains a community garden established through a Nourishing North Carolina Grant, offering educational opportunities about gardening.
