Brevard Zoo is a 700-animal wildlife park in Melbourne, Florida, where visitors explore natural habitats and connect with creatures from the Americas, Africa, Asia and Australia. The zoo features animal encounters including giraffe feeding, okapi and rhino experiences, plus keeper chats where staff answer questions about specific animals. Visitors can kayak around Africa, walk the Canopy Walk TreeTop Trek course, or ride the train for different perspectives of the grounds. The zoo offers guided tours with behind-the-scenes facts and conservation insights, plus feedings with kangaroos, lorikeets and cockatiels. A day suits families seeking direct animal interaction rather than passive viewing, involving multiple activities across interconnected natural loops. Admission tickets cost $34.95 for adults when purchased online, saving $2.00 per ticket. AZA members receive 50 percent off general admission with their card, and Florida residents with SNAP EBT or WIC cards get 50 percent off for themselves and up to six dependents under 18. Current military and veterans save $5 on onsite admission. Details appear at brevardzoo.org.
