About Brevard Museum of History & Natural Science

The Brevard Museum of History and Natural Science in Cocoa invites visitors to explore two wings of indoor exhibits covering Brevard County's natural and cultural heritage. The museum displays Ice Age fossils and life-sized replicas alongside exhibits depicting 1800s Florida life and the Space Age. Children visit the Discovery Room to climb into a rocket capsule for a simulated liftoff. Behind the main building, the Johnnie Johnson Nature Trails wind through three different ecosystems across a 22-acre nature preserve. The museum encompasses roughly 3.23 acres and includes meeting space and exhibit rooms dedicated to Florida and Brevard County history. General admission is free. The facility offers parking, picnic areas, a pavilion, and a walking track. Open Thursday through Saturday, with last admission at 3 p.m., the museum serves as a resource for understanding regional history and natural science.
