About Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway offers rail excursions through the North Georgia foothills along the Toccoa River. Passengers board at the historic depot in downtown Blue Ridge for either a two-hour express roundtrip or a four-hour extended journey covering 26 miles. The express ride returns directly to Blue Ridge, while the extended option includes a layover in the mountain towns. Visitors choose between open and closed coaches, with Premier Class featuring reclining seats, complimentary beverages and snacks, and a group photo. The railway operates seasonally with spring rides through fresh greenery, summer journeys alongside lush riverside scenery, fall excursions showcasing autumn foliage in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and winter rides through quiet landscapes. Vintage train cars reflect the route's heritage dating to 1886, when original tracks first reached the area. Wheelchair accessibility and lift-equipped cars accommodate visitors with mobility needs.
