About A.J. Read Science Discovery Center of Suny Oneonta
The A.J. Read Science Discovery Center at SUNY Oneonta is a free, hands-on museum where visitors of all ages interact with interactive exhibits and live demonstrations to explore scientific concepts. Located in the Physical Science Building on the SUNY Oneonta campus in Oneonta, New York, the center has connected people to scientific discovery since 1988. The facility opens to the public four days a week and accepts reservations for school, scout and other group visits. The center is part of a larger science outreach program that includes the SUNY Oneonta Planetarium, which features an advanced Evans & Sutherland Digistar 6 full-dome digital theater system. Planetarium shows present views of constellations, planets and stars visible in the night sky, along with full-dome movies and animations. The planetarium offers public shows during the school year, with tickets sold online through the university's ticketing system.
