The Van Wert County Agricultural Society operates a 96-acre fairgrounds in Van Wert with 49 buildings, barns, and arenas hosting events throughout the year. Visitors participate in Water Dog Races, where entrants compete with their dogs in aquatic competitions, and attend Harvest Happenings, a festival featuring arts and crafts vendors, local food, and activities for children alongside an Apple Festival and Dairy Barn Emporium. The fairgrounds hosts a seven-day county fair showcasing junior and senior exhibits, paid and free entertainment, games, and fair food celebrating Van Wert County agriculture. The Agricultural Society, a nonprofit governed by elected representatives from county townships, maintains facilities designed to accommodate expanding numbers of exhibitors and visitors. General admission is free. The fairgrounds provides camping on-site for those attending events.
