About Texas Jailhouse (Tours & Events)

The Historic Anderson County Jail, built in 1931 and listed on the National Register, operates as an immersive art space and event venue in Palestine. Visitors navigate the building's three floors and 21 jail cells through themed experiences. Locked In Fear is a haunted house attraction featuring eerie corridors and immersive scares designed throughout the jail's layout. Grinch's Lair offers a festive, family-friendly walk-through inspired by Dr. Seuss, transforming the historic structure for the holidays. Paranormal Investigations allows groups to book the building after dark for overnight ghost hunts, bringing their own equipment to explore one of East Texas's most storied structures. Private Events and Rental accommodates parties, film and photo shoots, and fundraisers. The venue covers 11,000 square feet and processes visitors through an intake check-in before events begin. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
