The Sebastian Area Historical Museum occupies the 1927 Historic Sebastian Public School building and preserves the region's history through exhibits and educational programs. Visitors explore displays on the Ais Indians, Pelican Island, family life, quilts, fishing heritage, agriculture, military history, transportation, and early shops and trades. The museum features exhibits on clothing, a collection of historical maps displayed in a dedicated room, and a book shop alongside research facilities. A gift shop offers items related to the collections. Volunteer staff members answer questions and explain artifacts during visits. The museum hosts special Family Fun Day events featuring old-time children's crafts and scavenger hunts, along with presentations from community partners. General admission is free.
