Sandy Creek Nature Center is a 225-acre gateway to outdoor exploration featuring woodlands, wetlands, and over four miles of trails through natural habitat. Visitors hike the ADA interpretive trail, access a connection to the North Oconee River Greenway, and stop at wildlife observation areas. The Education & Visitor Center houses live reptiles and amphibians, marine and freshwater aquariums, and interactive natural history exhibits in an eco-friendly building. The property also includes a circa 1815 log house. The center offers programs and camps for adults and children, with activities ranging from environmental education to summer day camps and birthday parties. Trails are open sunrise to sunset daily, while the Education & Visitor Center operates Tuesday through Saturday. General admission is free. Sandy Creek Nature Center is located in Athens, Georgia.
