New York, Texas Ziplines in LaRue offers visitors a choice between a 6-line tour and a 9-line Challenge Tour, the latter featuring a 1500-foot line and two cable sky bridges that lead to a 40-foot zip tower. Participants travel from treetop to treetop across platforms with views extending 30 miles, positioned high above the rocky hillside on the highest point in East Texas. The facility sits in the New York Community, 15-20 minutes east of Athens where the East Texas Hill Country begins. Beyond ziplining, visitors can explore the local ecology through hiking, observe wildlife, or relax on the front porch in a private setting surrounded by scenic landscape. The attraction opened in 2008 and operates with advance reservations required.
