About Mother Lode Fairgrounds
Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora, California hosts the annual Mother Lode Fair, a four-day event featuring livestock exhibits, community displays, and live entertainment on the Sierra Stage including The Birdman live bird show and The Junebugs performances. Visitors enjoy arena events included with admission: the CCPRA Rodeo on Friday, Truck and Tractor Pulls on Saturday, and the Destruction Derby on Sunday. The fairgrounds operates a carnival with ride wristbands and individual tickets, community exhibit buildings, and a tribal building. The fair also runs a junior livestock auction that has exceeded one million dollars in sales. Children age twelve and under and seniors age sixty-two and over receive free fair admission on Thursday.
