About Mill Creek MetroParks Farm
Mill Creek MetroParks Farm is a 402-acre working farm in Canfield that teaches visitors about agriculture through educational programming, tours, and interactive displays. The property began as the Mahoning County Experimental Farm in the 1910s, with Ohio State University managing it until 1990 while researching improvements in planting, livestock production, and pest management. Mill Creek MetroParks now operates the farm under lease from the county. Visitors explore the Animal Barns and AgVenture Barn, which features hands-on exhibits, games, and activities teaching about farm life. Staff care for farm animals daily, feeding and preparing them for visitor interaction. The farm operates seasonally, with extended hours during summer months. Families learn about agricultural practices while observing and safely interacting with the animals on the property.
