About Logan County History Center
The Logan County History Center in Bellefontaine comprises three connected museum buildings that visitors explore without going outside. The facility includes the Orr Mansion, the Logan County Museum, and the Transportation Museum, along with a historical society office and gift shop. The Transportation Museum features exhibits housed in a converted former nursing home, with patient and exam rooms transformed into display spaces. The Orr Mansion, purchased by the Historical Society in 1988 and opened to the public in 1989, serves as home to the Logan County Historical Society. Visitors can view artifacts and documents throughout the buildings. The History Center's Archives collection and the Logan County Genealogical Society Library occupy the second floor of the Transportation Museum, offering genealogical research resources. The center educates visitors about Logan County history through artifacts, documents, and historical items collected from throughout the region, providing insight into local heritage and family connections.
