Liberty Apple Orchard is a pick-your-own orchard on the east side of Edwardsville where visitors hand-pick apples from 21 varieties. The orchard features mowed rows that keep the grounds accessible for families of all ages and stroller-friendly for young children. Lower branches on the younger trees allow guests of any height to reach fruit easily. Visitors can select from varieties including Fuji, Cortland, Empire, Liberty, Jonathan, HoneyCrisp, and McIntosh apples. The on-site store offers apple cider slushies and additional apple varieties for purchase. The orchard operates seasonally and maintains sustainable practices including native pollinator habitats and six honeybee hives. Admission is free, with visitors paying only for the apples they pick. The family-owned operation, run since 2008, hosts over 1,000 school field trips annually and hosts community fundraising events including pony rides, petting zoo attractions, face painting, and pumpkin decorating.
