Lake Hartwell Wildlife Safari Park is a drive-through safari where visitors experience animals in a natural setting from their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. Guests drive through two miles of habitat to encounter American bison, ostriches, camels, water buffalo, wildebeest, zebras, elands, kangaroos, emus, and various antelope species. Animals approach vehicles for photo opportunities. After the drive-through, the park includes a Safari Walkabout to observe primates, a Fennec Fox area, Tortoise Lane featuring African tortoises, and a petting zoo where visitors can kiss camels. The Budgie Experience immerses guests in a walk-through aviary with over two hundred parakeets. The park offers community bus tours on weekends, rental vehicles for groups, and field trips with educational programming. A picnic area allows families to relax on the grounds. Located in Hartwell, Georgia, the safari operates Wednesday through Sunday with flexible visit lengths ranging from forty-five minutes to several hours.
