The Harlingen Arts and Heritage Museum in Harlingen, Texas preserves South Texas history through interactive exhibits, historic homes, and cultural events. Visitors explore five unique sites on the museum grounds: the original H.E.B. Historic Building, the Lon C. Hill Home, the first Harlingen Hospital, the Paso Real Stagecoach Inn replica, and the Visitor Center and Exhibit Hall. Each location tells stories of innovation, resilience, and community pride from the early 1900s onward. The museum hosts rotating art exhibits, children's programs, and quilt shows alongside annual celebrations including Día de los Muertos altar displays and the Christmas Tree Extravaganza. Educational tours connect visitors with historic artifacts, documents, and artworks that illustrate local life across generations. The museum serves as a cultural hub featuring the Taste of Harlingen gala and the HCISD Student Art Show. Admission is free and open to the public.
