Happy Trails Rental operates Polaris RZR off-road vehicle rentals in Johnson Valley, a 100,000-acre off-highway vehicle area in the Mojave Desert near Lucerne Valley. Visitors drive self-guided GPS tours along trails including the Mojave Mammoth Trail, King Cougar Trail, Hercules Byway Loop, Johnson Valley Grand Trail, and Hercules Highway Trail. Private guided tours include sunset and stargazing experiences along Rattlesnake Canyon Trail. The landscape features vast valleys, dry lake beds, sandy washes, and rocky buttes including Cougar Buttes with granite formations like Jaws Cave, Indian Ballroom, The Arches, and Sphinx Rock. Drivers must be at least 28 years old with a valid license, though younger licensed drivers may participate with a parent in the vehicle. Passengers must be at least 54 inches tall and a minimum of 9 years old with a parent or guardian. All participants wear helmets with goggles and closed-toe shoes.
