The Flint RiverQuarium in Albany, Georgia is an aquarium where visitors explore exhibits featuring more than 160 different species and over 1,300 animals. The centerpiece Blue Hole Spring exhibit holds 175,000 gallons of water kept at a constant 68 degrees and features animals including redhorse suckers, painted turtles, and Atlantic sturgeon. Visitors can see Moonshine, a rare albino alligator, in the Spring Run Creek exhibit, and Big Al, a 126-pound snapping turtle. Weekend programs run from 10:30am to 3:30pm and include aviary feedings, dive shows, tank talks, and animal chats. Tadpole Time, held the second Friday of each month, offers parents and preschoolers themed story time, crafts, and animal encounters. The aquarium is certified sensory inclusive through KultureCity and provides sensory bags with noise-canceling headphones, fidget tools, and weighted lap pads, plus the Eric and Carol Pittman Sensory Room for guests who need to decompress.
