About Boron Aerospace Museum

The Boron Aerospace Museum preserves the aerospace research history performed over Boron and Antelope Valley skies. Visitors explore a collection of historic aircraft, engines, spaceflight equipment, and flight simulators. The museum displays the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II, an American supersonic jet that reached speeds of Mach 2.23, and the Swedish Saab J-35 Draken, a delta-winged fighter jet capable of Mach 2.2. A working flight simulator uses an actual J35 Draken nose section wired for simulation, originally operated by the Royal Danish Air Pilot School in Mojave. Additional exhibits include the XLR-8 rocket engine that powered the Navy D-558 Skyrocket to Mach 2.5, the Turner T-40A/B wooden airplane with folding wings, a T-45 trainer jet engine on loan from Antelope Valley College, and skis from Richard E. Byrd's first plane expedition over the South Pole. The museum features a Veterans Wall where families may display photographs of loved ones. The museum is located in Boron, California.
