About Back To Eden
Back To Eden is a historical campground and plantation site located in Henderson, North Carolina. Once known as The Wortham Plantation, the property was owned by the Wortham family for over 100 years beginning in the 1830s. Current owner Kenneth Spellman discovered the graves of over 50 enslaved people on the land, an important archaeological find that illuminates the site's complex past. Visitors come to the campground to disconnect and recharge in a peaceful setting. The property offers various visitation packages that allow guests to explore the grounds and learn about the site's history. Photo galleries showcase the landscape and historical features. The location combines outdoor recreation with historical education, making it suitable for those interested in plantation history and the experiences of enslaved people who lived and worked there.
