Aerie's Alpine Coaster is Illinois's first gravity coaster, located at Aerie's Resort in Grafton. Riders board individual cars and descend nearly 4,000 feet of custom track down the river bluffs. The course features seven hairpin turns and eight waves or twisters that create the sensation of a thrilling gravity-powered ride. The coaster is accessed via the Grafton SkyTour, which carries riders up the hill to the starting point. The track includes under-glow lighting that illuminates the entire route, allowing visitors to experience nighttime rides. All participants must complete a liability waiver before riding.
