About John Smart House
The John Smart House Museum is an 1886 Victorian home in Medina where visitors tour eleven period rooms and view special exhibits. The museum displays Victorian furnishings accumulated over more than a century through acquisitions, bequests, and donations from across the county and beyond. Exhibits include memorabilia from the Seville Giants and a stained glass sign from the historic Longacre furniture store that once stood on Medina Square. The house serves as the administrative, exhibit, and research base for the Medina County Historical Society and contains the organization's holdings and resource materials. Open houses occur on the second Sunday of the month, allowing visitors to walk through the restored home and examine its collections.
