Days out in West Midlands

Maybe it’s something in the chocolate? Check it out yourself at Birmingham’s Cadbury World after melting your credit card shopping at Bullring & Grand Central. Brum’s canal quarter is also packed with hip bars and restaurants nowadays – but try the plush Barton Arms for a retro gin palace vibe.

Kids love Legoland Discovery Centre and Thinktank Birmingham Science Centre. And away from the big city, there’s Waterworld and Trentham Monkey Forest in Staffordshire’s Stoke-on-Trent.

Want something a bit different? Warwick has a cracking castle, pretty St Nicholas Park and the Stairway to Heaven canal locks at Hatton.

Lots of culture. Countryside jaunts. Warm accents. The West Midlands is worth a second look.
