Days out in Surrey

Half an hour from central London, this county’s got more country pubs than you can shake a scampi basket at. Plus kids attractions like Chessington World of Adventures and Thorpe Park near Chertsey.

But what else is on the go?

Active types love running, cycling and horse riding in the beautiful Surrey Hills. Indoorsy types love flopping out on four-posters at plush hotels like Great Fosters in Egham. Everyone loves the miniature train at Thames Ditton. Don’t ask to sit on the driver’s knee though. Bit weird at your age.

Hampton Court Palace at East Molesey is another hotspot and Concorde’s parked up at Brooklands Museum in Weybridge.

For a South East break that suits different tastes, Surrey fits the bill.
