You’ve seen it on Strictly Come Dancing. But nothing prepares you for shuffling out onto the dancefloor at The Blackpool Tower Ballroom, gazing at the ornate surroundings and whirling under the lights.
Remember to stretch if you’ve not exercised for a while. Sitting with a pulled hamstring while other folk whizz past is no fun.Check dates
Fun for all ages!
With our insider info, tips and "must-do's"
I was dragged there but I enjoyed it so much more than I thought! The atmosphere was amazing!
Get up and dance! It's a wonderful setting with amazing musicians and a huge dancefloor.
Albert & The Lion pub is the perfect place to cool off after dancing
Sprung dance floor. Elaborate chandeliers. Beautiful balconies. Whether you’re a Latin or Ballroom fan, you won’t miss a step at The Blackpool Tower Ballroom. And you’ll still look good even if you do in these plush surroundings.
Relax at your table with something fizzy (or good old afternoon tea) and get up to throw some shapes whenever the mood takes you – this is Britain’s most romantic location for anyone who loves to dance.
Organists like David Windle and Phil Kelsall are wizards on the iconic Wurlitzer organ, and you can check their schedule on the official site if you want to go when one of your favourites is tinkling the ivories.
And if you’re really into this mean music machine, why not book a special Wurlitzer Experience? You’ll learn all about its history, get a behind the scenes tour, ride up from the organ pit as you’re sat down at it and get to play for an hour. Ear plugs for other guests not included. You also get afternoon tea with the package but please leave your scones at the table. It once took them a week to remove half a scone from one of the pipes. Some people eh?
Opening times for the Blackpool Tower Ballroom vary. Check their official site to confirm.
Tickets include access to the balconies, but due to their age, you can’t access them in a wheelchair. You can stay as long as you like, but once you exit you’re not allowed back in with the same ticket. There’s not a strict dress code, but smart/casual is recommended. And if you want to go full-on glam with all the sequins and bells, even better!
Kids aged 15+ can buy an adult ticket and attend unaccompanied, but all under 15’s need an adult chaperone. Book online and bring your contactless bank card. The entrance to the ballroom is on level 3.
