SEA LIFE Weymouth

From Jurassic safaris to Chesil Beach, there’s plenty to do in Dorset. But, we’d hazard a guess, that SEA LIFE Weymouth will be a favourite with kids.

They’ve got sharks, rays, otters and loads more – all arranged in cool zones designed to resemble their natural habitats. And if that’s not enough to win them over, they can burn themselves out in the Caribbean Cove adventure playground. Job done.

In our own words...

Weymouth has a Caribbean Cove - who knew?

Even Sir David Attenborough would get excited at the range of amazing animals on display at SEA LIFE Weymouth. Probably.

From jellyfish to octopuses and turtles, there’s something cool around every corner. And there are more activity areas here than in lots of bigger SEA LIFE centres (including the Caribbean Cove Adventure Playground - a kids' dream), so you definitely get your money’s worth. Walk through Fairy Penguin Island to get close to the smallest penguins in the world, unwind with multicoloured fish in the Tropical Lagoon and fast forward through 24 hours in the life of a coral reef in the Night & Day Ocean Experience.

Not got your nature fix yet? See poison dart frogs at the Rainforest, chill with Green Sea Turtles and splash about in the Castaway Bay pool. Then refuel with your choice of three different food outlets before a round of mini golf at the Pirate Adventure course.

SEA LIFE Weymouth

SEA LIFE Weymouth is easy to find – it’s over the road from Weymouth Beach, just inside Lodmoor Country Park. There’s Pay & Display parking, it’s 20 minutes’ walk from Weymouth Train Station and you should get off at the Lodmoor Country Park stop if you’ve jumped on a bus.

Check the website, but it’s usually open from 9:30am - 5pm, but this is subject to change so it's worth checking before your visit. Face masks are still recommended and please don’t visit if you test positive for Covid-19. This SEA LIFE centre has also got back to (new) normal with a programme of talks and experiences – including interactive rockpool, seal and penguin sessions.

Pre-booking is essential and it’s an all-weather attraction. It always tries to be as accessible as possible and carers for disabled guests get in for free. Find out about local conservation projects in the Wetlands area or ask staff about global projects run by the SEA LIFE Trust – there are lots of ways to get involved.
