What to expect at Cutty Sark

Sail into history and get back in time for tea

If sailing ships float your boat, you’ll love a visit to this £2.46 million beauty in Greenwich (that’s in today’s money FYI).

Experience it for yourself and buy Cutty Sark tickets.

Walk along the main deck and imagine what it was like packed with noisy, smelly pigs and chickens. Pop down to the comfy captain’s quarters and learn about the ship’s legendary gaffers… and others who didn’t know their oars from their elbows. Touch the copper hull that made this ship super-fast. Yup, this is the type of action that makes a ship fanatic need a cold shower.

When you want to get immersive, there’s an audio tour available. And live actors playing the ship’s owner make it more entertaining for kids than listening to you rave about rivets, sails and maritime speed records (as cool as all that stuff is).

Is the Cutty Stark accessible?

Yes! The Cutty Stark is wheelchair accessible with lifts providing access to all levels of the ship. For safety reasons wheelchair spaces on the ship are limited to three visitors at any one time. Some areas of the Main Deck are not wheelchair accessible, but virtual access is provided to these spaces.

The original ship structure restricts the size of the lift on board, so unfortunately mobility scooters cannot be accommodated onboard.
